Hypocrisy
I wanted a baby.
It took a very long time for me to take this dream of mine and give it over.
I fought for it.
I try to rally my friends, family, fellow women behind me to get something across to the powers that be,
you know,
Government,
employers,
insurance,
to cover at least in part, some of the medical cost of infertility.
My efforts were in vain.
As a woman, the desire to have a baby but the inability to do so is not part of 'The Womens Health Rights' that so many FemiNazis are clamouring over.
However the right to chemicals and procedures to prevent, even end pregnancy IS.
This^ is Hypocrisy.
While the masses raise their pitchforks over The Supreme Courts ruling today that a corporation DOES have the right to limit the medicines and services they cover for their employees, I have yarn to buy.

National BBQ Day... or why I don't celebrate Memorial Day
Memorial Day. Crap. I can't do it.
I love our Military. I come from a long line of Soldiers, Sailors & Airmen. I wanted to be a Marine. My daughter is in love with a Sailor. My HusBeast is retired Army Reserve. I knit & bake goodies to send to our deployed Service Members. I bought 2 cases of Thin Mints to send to Afghanistan.
I saw a lot of memes over the weekend about how Memorial Day is to celebrate our Military, NOT 'National BBQ Day'.
But thats what I did on Memorial Day. I BBQ'd.
I also went camping, which is a fine American tradition, it heralds in the beginning of summer.... but somehow, embracing this tradition 'demeans' those in Uniform.....
Memorial Day. Crap. I can't do it.
Because while our Nation remembers, praises those that have served...
Memorial Day. Crap. I can't do it.
.....Memorial Day punches me in the chest and rips out my heart.
My Dad, a retired Vietnam Vet, died on Memorial Day.
So while you may badger me over my camping & grilling, belittle me that I did not take the holiday seriously, let me tell you that my actions DID indeed honour all of our People in Uniform, because it honoured my Dad.
Daddy loved to have bbq's. Loved long weekends when he was not on duty.
Entertaining his peers, building a camaraderie, a brotherhood. The old oil drum grill with ribs dripping fat over hot coals. Watermelon. Iced tea. I loved those summer weekends.
So CHEERS! Daddy. I miss you.
I went camping, I caught fishes, I made ribs & tater salad.
And I poured one out for you.
